Automat Matuška and Its Vision

The vision of this ambitious collective is to become a place with the best beer far and wide. With up to ten beers on tap, a nano-brewery where guests can brew their own beer, and the opportunity to enjoy excellent barbecue—whether they're omnivores or vegetarians. This establishment thrives daily thanks to Daniel and his great team. And we're glad to be part of it!

Where There's a Problem, There's a Solution!

When Automat Matuska began operations in 2022, General Manager Daniel Korcsmáros recognized the necessity of financial management and planning to ensure the long-term health of the business.

Although financial management was one of Daniel's priorities, he admitted to having little experience in the role of a financial director. However, his previous tenure at the Ambiente group, where they used a custom internal system, gave him a general idea of what needed to be monitored financially and how management and planning should ideally function.

He was therefore searching for a solution that would allow him to monitor cash register revenues, input employee wages, upload received invoices, record raw material and other costs, and share data with accountants—all in one place.

When Daniel came across Dishboard, he quickly realized it was exactly the solution he had been looking for.
Dishboard simply covered all the needs of Daniel's team.

Thanks to features such as:

  • Uploading invoices or photos of receipts
  • Automatic recognition and transcription of data from tax documents
  • Expense categorization
  • Integration with cash register and accounting systems

Additionally, Dishboard brought improvements to internal processes that Daniel hadn't initially considered.

The "Payment Calendar" feature, which helps monitor invoice due dates and facilitates their payment through automatically generated QR codes and bulk payment entries into the bank, significantly simplified the invoice payment process and saved several more hours of manual work each month.

Other advantages that played a role in choosing this solution include Dishboard's user-friendliness and intuitiveness, as well as the ability to grant access to colleagues for delegating individual tasks within the company's internal processes.

Thanks to this, Dishboard serves as a central place where all team members involved in financial management can easily perform their tasks:

  • The internal accountant uploads and approves invoices for raw materials (most invoices go directly into the application)
  • Other invoices are uploaded and approved by the manager
  • Invoices to be paid are handled by the owner using the "Payment Calendar" feature
  • The external accounting firm then downloads all data from Dishboard, eliminating the need for separate storage for document transfer, and if a document is lost, it's always found in Dishboard

Dishboard Bears Fruit

Using Dishboard has helped Automat Matuska in several ways, but the main benefits are:

  • Reduction of pour cost by 4% and further cost optimization
  • The P&L report and other reports that Dishboard generates in real-time based on income and expense data have provided Daniel and his team with useful information about raw material and other costs, allowing them to identify areas for optimization.

"We know what the ideal food cost is; we know how our recipes are set. But then we see the actual food cost in Dishboard. When there's a discrepancy, we can address it," says Daniel.

Facts from the Tank

A beautifully frothy example is the pour cost of beer, where they detected a similar discrepancy with the help of Dishboard! Through technical adjustments to the keg tapping process and additional staff training, they were able to reduce the pour cost by 4% (the cost of pouring beer).

In addition, they also use the P&L report to track the amounts paid to individual suppliers. Simply put, this data serves as a basis for proactive communication with suppliers and price optimization.


And do you know what the best part is?

You can easily filter everything in the P&L report, so Daniel has full control over the suppliers with the highest volumes and can “negotiate better prices” — naturally helping to maintain a healthy long-term setup for food cost and profit margins.

Time is money!

Time savings of up to 35 hours a month in financial management — and no, this is not a joke!

According to Daniel’s estimate, these tasks now take roughly 15 hours a month, whereas in the past, the whole team could spend up to 50 hours on them - that’s a 35-hour saving. Just imagine what you could accomplish with that much time - for example… well, what would you do?

The biggest time savings come from processing, approving, and paying invoices.

A nightmare that didn’t last forever!

Before implementing Dishboard, the process worked like something out of a B-movie:
The in-house accountant first prepped the invoices for approval in paper form. Then, a manager approved them by signing them, after which the in-house accountant scanned them again and sent them to the external accountant for payment.
The entire process was so complicated that even Bruce Willis would rather go through Armageddon again than deal with it without Dishboard.

Now, the entire process takes place electronically in Dishboard, where both the in-house accountant and the manager can approve invoices directly. And thanks to the simplicity and clarity of the Payment Calendar, the owner handles the payments himself instead of the external accountant.
